A Little Life Update

If you follow me on social media you may have seen this picture on your newsfeed. So I thought I should probably give an update as last thing you guys heard I was working at Kew Gardens.

I applied to Kew as many animal jobs require a lot of experience and I was getting nowhere with the job search. As Kew is all about nature I thought it was still relatable and gave me a bit of a break from full time in a hospitality industry. I thoroughly enjoyed in there the people were great and it was very chilled compared to the fast paced environment I'm used to. It was only a temporary job selling tickets till November. Whilst there I saw a post for a job at Tilgate Nature Centre which I never thought I would get. But I can say now I smashed the interview and I got the position.

So my job role at Tilgate Nature Centre is an Educational Officer Assistant. This means I will be part of the educational team at Tilgate. One of my main roles will be doing the public talks there which I'm very nervous but excited to start. Alongside this I will also be doing experience days. The photo above is an example of the Meet the Meerkats encounter which is amazing. It something I always wanted to do and not only did I get to experience it on my first shift I will now get to run these session and see all you guys enjoy them! Today was my first day and i absolutely loved it can't wait to get settled in and do something I love every day.
